This unique vacation home was the only private house with pool in the Makahuena Resort complex in sunny Poipu. The resort had a communal pool, hot tub, tennis court, and barbecue areas. However this lovely home was located further down hill and only yards from the ocean. The sparking blue pool, separating the home from the sea, provided a focal point of tranquility in contrast to the backdrop of ever changing ocean currents. The breathtaking sunsets could to be comfortably viewed from every room. The main floor was decorated in a warm tranquil manner. Two master suites and bathrooms were on the main floor. Each bedroom was generous in size and decorated in a tropical theme. We were lulled to sleep by the sound of ocean waves. Linens and vacation necessities such as wireless internet were provided. The gourmet equipped kitchen was spacious enough for three people to prepare meals. Living spaces comfortably accommodated activities such as family board games, reading, and dolphin watching. The downstairs area almost served as a separate unit. The family room had a queen sofa bed, dining area, TV, wet bar, bathroom, and washer dryer. Almost a year later, when viewing a sunset picture taken while staying at Alaula, I feel relaxed.The vacation was not only rejuvenating but now has provided me with a stress reduction tool on my phone screen saver.
